about
Autumn Town was originally written during the ‘Primary Colours’ sessions. We took it out to LA but we decided that the song didn’t really fit the vibe of that record. We decided that it would sit more comfortably on our second record, so we revisited it for ‘Wonder’.
We pulled the song apart and turned it into what it is today. The subject is pretty metaphorical, but it has a sense of an imaginary dreamland where everything is perfect and you feel 100% alive. At the time of writing this song, I wanted to feel a release from the mundane day-to-day of working, eating, sleeping routine and have a place to escape. That’s how ‘Autumn Town’ came to life. - Jack Perry
lyrics
The road I hear you calling
All I have is sun and classic cars in my dreams
The air it looks so pretty in this autumn town
Wake up later morning, to a sound of little bird and bees defining happy
The air it looks so pretty
The air it looks so pretty in this autumn town
The people are beautiful inside and out, there’s no inbetween
Here’s a fact before I say too much
It’s where I feel alive
It’s where I’ll rest to die
The air it looks so pretty
The air it looks so pretty, in this autumn town
The air it looks so pretty
The air it looks so pretty in this autumn town
